Network Warrington will be whisking festival-goers to the popular Neighbourhood Weekender event at Victoria Park in Latchford on May 26th and May 27th 2018.
The Neighbourhood Weekender event, which is to be held at Victoria Park in the Latchford area of the town, will take place on May 26th and May 27th and feature prominent North West-founded acts such as The Courteeners and Noel Gallagher’s High Flying Birds.
This is the second contract which has been awarded to Network Warrington this year, after successfully bidding for a tender from Transport for Greater Manchester to operate the evening and Sunday journeys on the 360 route between Wigan and Newton-le-Willows.
This shuttle service will provide festival attendees with two options to travel to the event, with a shuttle service operating from Warrington Central and Warrington Bank Quay station respectively.
The shuttle buses will operate on both days of the festival, with services to Victoria Park operating from 11:30 until 16:30, with return services to both stations scheduled to operate between 20:30 and 23:30.
Network Warrington managing director, Ben Wakerley, said: “We take contracts where we can, another recent example being the contract win to operate a service to Wigan during evenings and Sundays, to help bring in more income to support our existing routes in and around Warrington.
“We’re committed to operating as many services as we can to connect our communities. We do our best to ensure residents aren’t isolated and whilst we can’t cover every inch of Warrington’s highways, winning contracts is one way in which we can continue providing as many of our services as possible.
“The festival is great news for the town and we are delighted to be partners in its delivery.”
Neighbourhood Weekender 2018 is the largest festival to be held in the town since the 1996 edition of V Festival, which was also held in Victoria Park and notably, it was also V Festival’s inaugural event.
