As part of changes to Liverpool bus services aimed at creating a simpler, clearer network across the city region, Selwyns Travel commenced operation of tendered bus services from Liverpool John Lennon Airport to Huyton earlier this week.
Selwyns Travel commencing operation of the 3, 3A and 3B bus services connecting Liverpool John Lennon Airport to Huyton as of Monday 24th July 2017. The new route is under contract to Merseytravel, and partially replaces the former 163 and 263 services operated by Huyton Travel Ltd.
The new route includes Kirkby Bus Station, Huyton Industrial Estate, Halewood Shopping Centre, the Jaguar Land Rover Plant and Liverpool John Lennon Airport, providing a regular public transport service for commuters and other members of the public.
As with all local bus services in Merseyside, the 3, 3A and 3B buses accept all Merseytravel passes, including Senior passes, Walrus smartcards, Saveaway, Solo and Trio tickets.
The on-bus fares are a standard flat fare for any distance and there are no peak/off-peak restrictions, these are priced at £1.90 for an adult ticket and £0.90 for a child ticket (at the time of writing).
A Merseyside and Halton My Ticket for under 18’s valid all day for £2.00 and an adult Solo Day Ticket at £4.70 are also sold onboard.
