Transdev subsidiary Rosso recently launched their £2.7m fleet of new highly specified Optare Versa V1170 11.7M buses in Rochdale, with further investment planned in the near future.
The 464, which runs between Accrington and Rochdale, is the first route to benefit from brand new buses since Transdev acquired Rosso.
Rosso has taken delivery of sixteen Optare Versas, with these examples being the 11.7-metre variant. There is capacity for up to 41 seated passengers on board.
With their Euro VI emissions compliant Mercedes-Benz OM934LA engines, they will improve air quality along the route.
On board, passengers will be able to enjoy the latest onboard features including complimentary 4G WiFi and USB charging points for mobile phones and tablets.
If you forget your charger, then wireless charging is also available for compatible mobile phones. Audio next stop announcements also feature, with the voice provided by Rochdale resident Hannah Woodfin.
Fourteen are finished in a smart two-tone purple and pink livery, with route branding for the 464. On these examples, the front panel has illuminated 464 branding. The other two examples are outshopped in a two-tone grey Pride of the North livery.
Other features to enhance the passenger experience include double glazed windows, litter bins, small tables at selected seats and glazed panels in the roof. The seating is dual purpose and is covered in Transdev’s unique colourful triangle design moquette with real leather headrests.
