Stagecoach adds a touch of Gold in Chester

Stagecoach Merseyside & South Lancashire has added a hand full of Optare Solo M950 midibuses from its Midlands fleet to replace similarly aged Alexander Dennis Darts in the city.

Stagecoach Gold buses are designed to allow passengers to travel in comfort whilst encouraging them to think of the environment by leaving the car at home.

Similar to the Alexander Dennis Enviro 300s in use on Quality Partnership routes 1 and 2, the Optare Solos feature a high-quality interior complete with hand stitched leather seats, free WiFi, CCTV and a mural of Chester behind the rear seats.

The buses will operate Chester city services 5 between Chester Railway Station and Huntington, the 7 between Chester Foregate Street and Vicars Cross and the 9 from Foregate Street to Pipers Ash.

Service 5 is the second service in Chester to be converted to Gold standard, with Quality Partnership services 1 & 2 between Chester and Liverpool City Centre converted in November 2015. The 7 and 9 are expected to follow on to be upgraded shortly.
