Transdev is offering hundreds of lucky Lancastrians the chance to enjoy a free day out across the North to promote Catch the Bus Week, a national celebration of the benefits of taking the bus.
Transdev is giving away free Daytripper Plus tickets to use on any of their buses from Preston and Manchester in the west to Whitby, Scarborough and Bridlington in the east to kick start the Catch the Bus Week celebrations on Monday 3rd July 2017.
Transdev Blazefield CEO, Alex Hornby, said: “Catch the Bus Week is a nationwide initiative now in its fourth year, to show people the many benefits of taking the bus to work, school, the shops or for a day out.
“We want to encourage people who don’t normally take the bus to give it a try, and so we’re offering our biggest ever free ticket giveaway to encourage first-time travellers to see for themselves how easy it is to enjoy a great day out with us.
“Our services across Lancashire have been transformed, with new and revitalised buses offering a host of passenger-friendly features including super fast and free 4G Wi-Fi, USB at-seat power points, audible next stop information and new comfortable seating.
“Many of these improvements have been introduced as a direct response to suggestions from our own innovative customer research – simple ideas like providing more legroom, double glazing for a smoother, quieter journey – and bigger bins to help keep bus interiors clean throughout the day. We think now’s the ideal time to encourage people who haven’t travelled by bus for a while to come back and see how we’re changing for the better.
“The tickets we’re giving away are our top of the range Daytripper Plus passes, which can be used on any of our services throughout Lancashire, including to Manchester, and all the way to the Yorkshire Coast. We’re sure this exciting offer will be very popular, so our advice is be quick – because once they’re gone, they’re gone!”
The company is making 50 free Daytripper Plus tickets available from each of their travel centres at Blackburn and Burnley Bus Stations from Monday – to get one, just quote “Catch the Bus Week” at the desk and they will do the rest.
There will also be 250 free Daytripper Plus tickets available from today on the Lancashire Bus App – just download the free app from Google Play or the Apple App Store, and then email: firstname.lastname@example.org and the free ticket will be sent directly to your mobile device.
It’s first come, first served and all applications for free mobile tickets must be made before midnight on Friday 7th July 2017.
