Network Warrington is celebrating the benefits of getting the bus as part of a week-long national initiative, with the prize of a three-month pass on offer for one lucky commuter.
Catch the Bus Week, which takes place from 3rd to the 9th July 2017, is a national initiative from Greener Journeys, celebrating the benefits of taking the bus.
Now in its fourth year, Catch the Bus Week is even bigger and better than ever before, with several bus companies all around the region taking part to encourage people to try the bus throughout the week.
Almost 2.5 million people across the UK travel to work by bus every day and for many, the bus is an accessible, important form of transport.
To celebrate those catching the bus this week, Network Warrington is running a competition to win a free three-month pass for commuters who photograph themselves on a Network Warrington bus this week.
Celebrating the value of public transport in Warrington, Ben Wakerley, Managing Director at Network Warrington, said: “Catch the Bus Week is a timely reminder of the value and importance of public transport and we are using this week to celebrate the 6 million passengers we carry each year.
“It’s also important to acknowledge the positive green impact our buses make. We first introduced electric hybrid buses in 2011 and remain committed to helping lower carbon emissions in Warrington. If we all switched one journey a month from car to bus, we would save up to 2 million tonnes of carbon dioxide each year nationally.”
The competition closes on the 10th July 2017, see the Network Warrington website for more details.
